Thank you for considering Happy Tails Dog walking for your dog walking and pet care needs. My name is Courtney Butler and my childhood dream was to become a veterinarian. I was born in Maine, grew up in Virginia, and my family always had pet dogs. I graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Psychology and worked as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for 10 years before getting married in 2016.

Shortly after getting married, I felt like it was time for a change in my career.  While I loved working with children and seeing them grow in Pre-K, I still wanted to work with animals.  So I started walking dogs part time for a local company. Then my husband and I had a child. I became a stay at home mom (my other dream job) and our son was my only priority for the next 5 years. Now he’s starting Kindergarten in the fall and I want to chase my childhood dreams again.

I may have missed my dream of becoming a vet, but I still loved and wanted to work with dogs. I started walking dogs in my free time while my son was finishing preschool.  I officially established Happy Tails Dog Walking LLC in July of 2023 and I am fully insured and certified in pet CPR & first aid.

When I am not walking dogs or spending time with my family & friends you can find me reading, at the beach or pool, or at the gym. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new things.
